Our farm stand and shop are at 9051 Dick Woods Rd, Afton, VA 22920, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, on Route 151 near I-64/US-250 and along the Brew Ridge Trail. We're an easy drive from Nellysford, Crozet, Charlottesville, Batesville, and Waynesboro.
The stand is open all day, every day, from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Fresh-cut flowers are available daily from April through October, and fresh evergreen wreaths are available in December.
We're the Little family — Meghan, Chris, Brayden, and Avery. We came to the area in 2012, fell in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains, and had the chance to buy a home on land that already had a working flower farm. We decided to carry on the business and have been going all-in ever since. Read our story.
The stand works on the honor system, so you can stop by any time during open hours. Payment options are posted at the stand, and you'll often find one of us (or one of our farm cats) around to say hello.
In spring: tulip, daffodil, hyacinth, ranunculus, peonies, anemone, phlox, crocus, allium, iris, and lily of the valley. In summer and fall: zinnia, dahlia, sunflower, cosmos, coneflower, hydrangea, rudbeckia, lupine, larkspur, celosia, calendula, snapdragon, marigold, and morning glory — plus new varieties we add to the field every year. In December: fresh evergreen wreaths.
It depends on what you love! Spring brings tulips, daffodils, ranunculus, and peonies. Mid-summer through the first frost is peak season for zinnias, dahlias, and sunflowers — and the best time for U-Pick. December is wreath season.
Yes. We specialize in providing local and organically grown flowers for our community, grown right here on our farm in Afton.
Very much so. Bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are a big part of life on the farm, and our fields give them a healthy, diverse place to forage. A healthy garden with the right plants and plenty of pollinators naturally reduces the need for pest control.
Yes! U-Pick runs mid-to-late season. Grab a jar or pail, wander the field, and pick your own bouquet. Sign up for our newsletter or follow us on Instagram and Facebook to hear when U-Pick opens each year.
Fill a jar with water at the flower shop, then head into the field. Dahlias, zinnias, and sunflowers make great focal flowers, and you'll find plenty of other flowers and filler to complement them. Take your time — you're welcome to hang out as long as you'd like.
A medium skinny jar is $20. Large vases are $30–$40 (if you really stuff it, let's call it $40!). Pay at the stand with cash, check, Venmo, or card.
Remove any leaves that would sit below the water line, keep your flowers out of hot cars and direct sun, and trim the stems about ¼ inch and change the water every day.
Absolutely. Fresh pre-cut flower jars are available at the stand every day from April through October, and we make arrangements in small and medium sizes.
Yes — arrangements can be pre-ordered. Send us a message with what you're looking for and when you'd like it, and we'll pick it fresh for you.
Delivery is available through DoorDash. You're also welcome to pick up your order at the stand.
We accept cash or check (leave it in the blue box at the stand), Venmo (@Chris-Little-80), and credit card or Apple Pay using the link posted at the stand.
U-Pick is $20 for a medium skinny jar and $30–$40 for a large vase. Pre-cut jars, arrangements, and wreaths are priced as marked at the stand, since prices vary with the season and what's blooming. For a specific arrangement or event, reach out and we'll be happy to help.
Yes. We make fresh evergreen wreaths every December, and we often host seasonal wreath-making sessions.
