Who Are We?

We are the Little Family: Meghan, Chris, Brayden (13) and Avery (11). We came to the area in 2012 and fell in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains. All-of-a-sudden, we had the opportunity to purchase a home on some land in Afton; land that had an operational flower farm! With green thumbs and the love for the outdoors, we decided to carry on the business, and have been going ‘all-in.’ We have spent countless hours on improving the already wonderful venture; making the business our own.

Pollinators And Their Importance:

Let’s not forget about the beautiful and necessary pollinators that provide mutual support for our ecosystem. Pollinators like honeybees, butterflies, birds, bats, and other animals are hard at work providing vital but often unnoticed services. They pollinate crops like apples, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, melon, peaches, potatoes, vanilla, almonds, coffee, and chocolate. Even ‘self-pollinating plants’, like grapes, need wind/insects/birds to make it all happen; boosting production drastically. Some scientists estimate that one out of every three bites of food we eat exists because of pollinators.

During a flower visit, a pollinator may accidentally brush against the flower’s reproductive parts, unknowingly depositing pollen from flower to flower.

Events

We are happy to host your special events, and we also offer our own events. We often work with local floral designers to provide arranging workshops (fresh and dried flowers) and seasonal holiday wreaths… for example.

U Pick U Choose

Come pick your own flowers or arrange your own from the fresh flowers we have picked. Grab a pail, hang out as long as you’d like, meet the cats, and leave with a beautiful jar of flowers.
